> MENTORING Program

The program matches gifted teen artists with professional artist mentors to create studio art projects focusing on specific environmental, socio-economical or philanthropic issues facing our world.  Mentees meet weekly in studio or in the field working on local art-related community service project.  Our mentors provide support, encouragement and exposure to new experiences. By developing a meaningful relationship with a mentee, they contribute to his or her artistic success, social development and sense of purpose.  Applications are closed for the 2011-12 Mentoring Program year.  Studio applications open year-round.  See below for more information.

Mentees in the Mentoring Program have the opportunity to:

  • Work in a studio setting with a professional artist mentor every week
  • Showcase their work throughout Atlanta
  • Meet and learn from leaders in the Atlanta artist community
  • Experience showcasing their work in multiple gallery exhibitions
  • Illustrate the power of the arts as a tool for encouraging positive social change
  • Explore and volunteer for various local causes they feel passionate about
  • Eligible to apply for the INTERNATIONAL Program upon completion

> STUDIO Program

We are excited to announce our latest addition to One Love Generation, the STUDIO program!  The STUDIO program is a collective group of teen artists that come together in a classroom-type setting to create works focusing on specific environmental, socio-economical or philanthropic issues facing our world. STUDIO artists meet weekly in the OLG studio or in the field working on local art-related community service projects.

The 2011-12 STUDIO program will start in late September and conclude in May at the end of the Atlanta Public School calendar year. As a STUDIO participant, you are making a weekly commitment to attend the studio from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the day you register for. Transportation is the responsibility of the young artist & supportive parent/guardian. Please email Jennifer to apply for the STUDIO Program.  Applicants will be notified in early September upon acceptance to the STUDIO program.

Teens in the STUDIO Program have the opportunity to:

  • Work in a professional studio setting
  • Showcase their work throughout Atlanta
  • Meet & learn from leaders in the artist community (from studio lectures to field trips)
  • Experience showcasing their work in a gallery exhibition
  • Develop various skill sets to enhance their artistic talent
  • Illustrate the power of the arts as a tool for encouraging positive social change
  • Explore and volunteer for various local causes they feel passionate about
  • Eligible to transfer to the MENTOR Program after 3 months
  • Eligible to apply for the INTERNATIONAL Program upon completion

> INTERNATIONAL Art Service Program

The program is an extension of the STUDIO & MENTORING programs.  Four to six teens are selected to participate in this trip after completion of either program.  Teens are chosen by demonstrating a number of traits, including (but not limited to) dedication, skill and passion for the arts and community service.  Once selected, the group establishes relationships with international communities and work together in developing artistic projects as a way to generate awareness.

Young artists in the International Art Service Program have the opportunity to:

  • Travel to international communities to be in service while using their artistic skill
  • Work on a major art piece in an international community
  • Illustrate the power of the arts as a tool for encouraging positive social change
  • Explore and volunteer for various causes they feel passionate about
